New: EVDB::API Ruby module
Just in time for Mashup Camp, we're proud to announce the availability of the EVDB::API module for Ruby. To install it with RubyGems, type:
gem install http://api.evdb.com/libs/evdb-current.gem
Note that this is what we call "Level 0" support for the API, which means it can call the REST methods and return parsed XML. More importantly, it lets you use our most secure form of user authentication without the hassle of mucking about with MD5 hashes yourself.
If Ruby is your thing, please give the new module a whirl and let us know what you think.

New: Labs preference on Eventful
A new tab for EVDB Labs projects has been added to your Eventful preferences. To find it, click on "Preferences" in the upper right corner of any Eventful page, then click on the "EVDB Labs" link to see a set of preferences like this:
Checking these preferences will enable experimental parts of the site. These features aren't ready for prime time, but we think they're already interesting enough to play with.
If any of the Labs features gets in the way (or gets on your nerves), just uncheck the preference and Bob's your uncle. We suspect that you'll like these enough to keep them around, though. Enjoy!

Mash Pit tomorrow

Labs on tour?
EVDB is hitting the road again, this time to bring the gospel of the API to the mashup masses. We'd love to see more cool mashups like EVMapper. Technically we're also API users, too, so we can offer some insights on that side of things as well.
Keep an eye on the nascent Mashup Camp site; it's being set up for late February, so we should see some details soon. I'm also hoping for an invite to Mash Pit on January 17th, but that's in Chris Messina's hands. Oh, and keep an eye on the EVDB Company Events calendar on Eventful.
